Laudato si': On care for our common home

“Our home is being ruined, and this hurts everyone, especially the poorest among us.”

—Pope Francis

Pope Francis' monumental encyclical Laudato si' focuses on ecological issues and the care of creation, attributing global climate change to human activity and calling for radical changes to the world's political and economic systems to address the issue. Of the task before us, Pope Francis has stated, “My appeal is, therefore, to responsibility, based on the task  that God has given to [humankind] in creation: ‘to till and tend’ the ‘garden’ in which humanity has been placed (cf. Gen 2:15). I invite everyone to accept with open hearts this document, which places itself in the line of the Church's social doctrine.”
