The Holy Cross International Justice Office is currently focusing on three issue areas:

• Global Economic Justice
  Priority issues for the global economic justice work of the Holy Cross International Justice Office include 
  • the debt of impoverished developing countries 
  • the policies and practices of the World Bank & IMF
  • structural adjustment programs
  • neoliberal trade policies/practices 
  • accountability of transnational corporations
  • effects of globalization  
  • U. N. Millennium Development Goals  (MDGs)
    
• Ecological Sustainability
  Priority issues for the ecological work of the Office are:
  • ecological sustainability as a justice issue;
  • changes in the physical environment -- their causes and their consequences; and
  • connections between economic globalization & corporate profit and environmental destruction
  • sustainability: vision and practice
    
• Rights of Marginalized Peoples
  Priority issues for the human rights work of the Office are:
  • discrimination/violence against "migrating peoples" -- migrants, immigrants, refugees, etc.;
  • discrimination/violence against indigenous peoples;  and
  • discrimination/violence against women and children

These focus areas and issues were chosen by the HCIJO Executive Committee after consultation with leadership and members of the four Congregations.  The resources posted on this site offer background, analysis, and theological reflection on these priorities.
